Recherche d'intérêts

My current research interests include development and application of molecular–based tools for better identification of food and waterborne parasites (Giardia and Cryptosporidium) and understanding sources of contamination and risks to humans. The research focuses in three areas: genotyping and subtyping protozoan parasites in animals and the aquatic environment; 2) development and application of real time PCR and targeted metagenomics for parasite detection in complex matrices; and 3) use of comparative genomics of Cryptosporidium and Cyclospora for identification of markers for enhanced source attribution of pathotypes important in human illness.
